Objects made to outlast the trend
Chetova began in a two-room studio with a simple frustration: almost everything for the home was either beautiful and fragile, or durable and dull. We set out to make the third thing.
We work with a short list of workshops — a joinery in the Pacific Northwest, a family tannery in Tuscany, a stoneware studio in Portugal, a linen mill in Belgium. Each has decades in their craft and each holds a stake in the pieces they produce for us.
The result is a catalogue that grows slowly. We would rather release six pieces a year that stay in the range for a decade than sixty that vanish by autumn. Prices reflect real cost and fair pay, without the multiples that traditional retail adds along the way.
Everything is packed in recyclable board and paper, in a studio where the same people who answer your email pack your parcel. If something isn't right, they're the ones who will fix it.
- Honest materials
- Solid timber, full-grain leather, stoneware, linen and brass. Materials that patinate rather than perish, sourced from mills and tanneries we can name.
- Small batches
- We produce in runs of fifty to three hundred. It keeps quality under our eye, avoids landfill overstock, and means each piece is finished by hand.
- Built to be kept
- Nothing seasonal, nothing disposable. Every design is assessed on whether it will still feel right in a decade — and whether it can be repaired.
